2014 MTV WORLD STAGE INSIDER NAMED!

#COOLEST10DAY JOB AS 2014 MTV WORLD STAGE INSIDER GOES TO 21-YEAR-OLD MALAYSIAN STUDENT, ARIC TING

Currently an Arts and Communications student at Monash University Malaysia in Bandar Sunway, Aric Ting is also an active social media junkie, who not only runs his own radio show on campus, YouTube 100 Malaysia, but has interned with Groupon Malaysia as its social media representative early this year. In being picked for the US$10,000² gig, Ting beat a talented pool of entries from across Southeast Asia including Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore and emerged the top candidate after a Google Hangout interview process with shortlisted potentials last week. Ting impressed MTV Asia with his creative and wacky social media resume. His role commencement is on 7 August till 16 August.

It was an MTV covert operation as the MTV Asia team along with MTV VJ Alan Wong took Ting by surprise, breaking the news to him at Monash Malaysia. Catch his surprise in the short instavid by the MTV crew.

The MTV World Stage Insider search targets music fans from Malaysia and around Southeast Asia, who already have an active social presence (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Vine, blog). Tagged as not the usual ‘nine-to-five’ role, the hunt for MTV World Stage Insider kicked off through MTV Asia’s Facebook, Instagramand Twitter accounts from 3 – 24 July.

Apart from the attractive engagement fee, the MTV World Stage Insider will get to:

• “Take over” MTV Asia social media channels – Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
• Have his blog reposted on the MTV World Stage Malaysia 2014’s official site on a dedicated page that also displays relevant content produced by him (if applicable)
• Have a ‘backstage pass’³ to MTV World Stage Malaysia 2014
• Connect the MTV Experience with fans
• The option of a potential MTV internship⁴ after the 10-day stint
• The name of MTV on their CV, need we say more?
