Running Man's Sparta, Kim Jong-kook finally ran his way to Malaysia to meet his beloved fans. 14th June 2013 marked his first visit to Malaysia and it was a blast! Fans from all around the world such as Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Korea gathered at the HGH Convention Centre to catch the sweet singer, or the well-known Sparta from Running Man, Kim Jong-kook in action. Thanks to New Pro Star, PMP Entertainment and Running Into The Sun, fans were given exclusive chances to meet Kim Jong-kook at zero distance and taking group photo with the man.

Kim Jong-kook's First Malaysia Showcase started off at 8pm with opening guest, local artiste Virus Wu and Henley Hii. Both of them admitted they were fans of the variety show "Running Man" and was honoured to be the opening guest for Kim Jong-kook. The emcee of the night was Yoon from One FM, one of the official radio station for the event.

"Today More Than Yesterday" was the first song Kim Jong-kook sang for his fans. His appearance was greeted by the crowd with loud cheers. Kim Jong-kook was seen wearing a white tee, grey cotton vest with a dark cardigan and a striking orange short pants. He sang on stage, with 3 dancers in companion.
The showcase continued with a short and fun interview with Kim Jong-kook on stage. He first greeted fans in Malay, "Apa Khabar!" and expressed that he wasn't expecting that much of fans to be welcoming him in the airport and also attending his showcase.

Kim Jong-kook revealed that he ate Nasi Lemak in the morning and his stomach isn't feeling well because the sambal has a different and stronger taste of spice. It is totally different from Korea's spicy food. To spice up the crowd, Kim Jong-kook shared some behind-the-scene happenings of "Running Man" with fans. He said he gets angry at Kwang-soo easily as Kwang-soo always befriend him in the beginning and betray him afterwards. He even confessed that he doesn't want to be in the same group with fellow friend Suk-jin.

A tough man like Kim Jong-kook is hardly seen with teary eyes in front of rolling cameras or fans. To everyone's shock, Kim Jong-kook said that he have once cried in front of Cha Tae-hyun while he was drunk and Tae-hyun actually revealed it. Jong-kook said he mumbles a lot when he is drunk. Since this is the first time Kim Jong-kook ever set foot in Malaysia, he allowed fans to do whatever they want on stage to him with no barriers! His words drew a big roar from the crowd!

After the interview, fans were picked up on stage by lucky draw to play games with Kim Jong-kook. Many fans took the opportunity to give the singer a big hug and he embraced it happily. The punishments Kim Jong-kook received for losing in the games were one of the highlight of the night as he was given task to flash his muscles to the crowd and do Gwiyomi. Fans were charmed by his tough yet cute personality. Kim Jong-kook was then shown to a fan made clip compiled by the event managers, made by fans and specially dedicated to Kim Jong-kook.

After that, Kim Jong-kook returned on stage with his songs, "Men Are All Like That", " Don't Be Too Good To Me", "Star, Wind, Sun and Love", "Loveable" and "Twist King". Fans were cheering along with the song "Loveable" it was a fast and fun song. It definitely lifted the mood after so many sentimental songs by him. Kim Jong-kook was once a boy group member 10 years ago and he admitted that he was a great dancer back then just like Big Bang and Super Junior. He then performed "Twist King", a song from long time ago, with his cute choreography.

Lastly, he ended his showcase with one last encore song, "One Man". He promised to bring members of "Running Man" to Malaysia in the future.

A: 'That Winter, The Wind Blows' has a nice script. There are amazing actor and actress as well as production crews, there were no reason for me to reject the drama. After the military service, Martial Art was actually my comeback project but it was paused till further notice. This drama came after that and I am glad that I was given this role. It was a fortune and I am glad to be here for the drama.

Q: What research did you do before taking up the role as Oh Soo?

A: There were a lot of meetings before the drama started filming on how to take and bring the character further. It is a really special character and I was really excited.

Q: What do you think about the lead actress in 'That Winter, The Wind Blows', Song Hye-kyo?

A: Song Hye-kyo is fantastic. She is a very beautiful actress.

Q: In the drama, Oh Soo often wear big long coats, which style do you personally prefer?

A: I thank my parents for giving me the admired height, I love long coats.

Q: Is there any similarities between Jo In Sung and Oh Soo?

A: I think it is pretty similar because I showed the real me through the character, Oh Soo.

Q: Would you want to act in a romantic comedy?

A: I used to film sitcom other than drama like Non-Stop. I won't take a romantic comedy script just because I want to be in a romantic comedy. I want to see the role and to make sure I can show the role to the world. I want to show the real me.

Q: Would you label yourself as a romantic guy?

A: Yes.

Q: Who would you like to collaborate in your next project?

A: I want to be with good actors and actresses. In fact, my next project will on a big screen. It was an honour to be able to work with Song Hye-kyo.

Q: In the drama, Oh Soo reads Braille. Did you learn how to read it?

A: I didn't learn before. It was really difficult, I can't read at all. (laughs)

A: I didn't really count the days, it was roughly for 5 long months. It was hard for me to leave the character after portraying it for a long time and I personally think it is not good.

A: I like summer out of the 4 seasons because it is healthy. There was a research stating that getting lots of sunshine is a healthy thing. But I will also spend winter with a warm heart. (shy)

A: I am not a fortune teller and I can't see the future. I did not know it will be this big but I've got a good feeling when I took the drama.

Q: You are having a meet-and-greet session with the fans later, what do you expect from the crowd?

A: I don't think I have many fans here. There wasn't many fans in the airport when I landed. I will expect to have 13 fans later as there was only 13 fans in the airport. (How did you know?) I've secretly counted when I was in the airport. (You went out through the VIP exit, that's why you didn't see the crowd. There were many fans!) Really? Oh.

A: For drama, it is the first time. I have visited Malaysia before for a commercial shooting for 2 days and 1 night.

Kuala Lumpur, 20 May 2013 – Alternative K-Pop artist, TVXQ!, delighted thousands of Malaysian fans in a spectacular comeback show at Stadium Malawati last Saturday – an event that Cassiopeia throughout the country awaited for 6 years! The K-Pop phenomenon was greeted by an overwhelming cheer from the crowd as Max (Changmin) and U-Know (Yunho) took to the stage with their opening performance of Rising Sun.

Fans went wild with excitement as each of the boys serenaded the audience with a solo. Max’s heartfelt performance of Confession – a track written by him for TVXQ’s ‘Keep Your Head Down’ album was immediately followed by U-Know’s enchanting performance of Honey Funny Bunny. TVXQ! then went on to dazzle the audience with their dynamic hits - Humanoids, Catch Me and Mirotic, among other much loved tracks.

More than RM1.5 million was invested in the development of the TVXQ! concert stage, which was specially designed for the Malaysian fans to enjoy an intimate concert setting. The unique layout provided the audience with an up-close-and-personal experience with Max and U-Know as the boys dazzled spectators with signature dance moves, catchy beats and soulful serenades.

Last Saturday night’s performance was part of their comeback TVXQ! “Catch Me” Live World Tour, which has sold out stadiums and arenas across Asia. It also marked TVXQ!’s third appearance in Malaysia since the band was formed in 2003 and is their first time performing in Malaysia since briefly stepping out of the limelight 6 years ago. TVXQ!’s fan following in Malaysia has continued to grow in spite of their hiatus from the music scene, a fact made clear during the concert with many new fans joining thousands of long-time Cassiopeia as they sang and danced along to their favourite TVXQ! hits.

As the end to a spectacular evening neared and the boys left the stage, fans called for an encore - singing TVXQ’s ballad I Swear and waving banners in unison. Thanking fans for patiently awaiting their return, Max and U-Know were met by a great cheer from fans as they promised their next tour would not leave Malaysians waiting for long.

TVXQ! has been a K-Pop idol, mesmerizing fans to many around the globe for almost 10 years. The group hailed as ‘K-Pop Royalty’ by Billboard, has enjoyed a record breaking streak with their Catch Me album, topping various music charts and their tour filling out arenas and stadiums across the globe with their new world tour. Despite an absence of 6 years, the boys proved to be bigger and better than ever before, with their ‘Catch Me’ album reaching the No.6 ranking on the highly regarded Billboard World Albums Chart in the U.S. last October, whilst also earning them the ‘Album of the Year’ award for the fourth quarter of 2012 at the GAON Chart K-Pop Awards. TVXQ!’s single by the same name, Catch Me, soared to the top of music charts in Korea, Japan, Thailand and Taiwan.

The current tour commenced in Seoul, South Korea, October 2012 selling out 20,000 concert tickets within five minutes. TVXQ! is making history as the first K-POP band to embark on a tour that includes performances at five major entertainment domes in Japan - following a concert at the Saitama Super Arena, the boys then move on to perform at Tokyo Dome, Osaka Kyocera Dome, Fukuoka Yahoo! Japan Dome, Sapporo Dome and Nagoya Dome followed by a final performance in Nissan Stadium (another record - being first for any foreign artist). The world tour also has Max and U-Know doing performances in Hong Kong, Beijing and other Asian cities, so far selling hundreds of thousands of tickets.

JPM Music collaborated with Korean companies SM Entertainment and Dream Maker Entertainment whilst also teaming up with joint presenter Magnum Live to make the concert in Malaysia possible. Authentic Korean restaurant chain DaoRae, provided specialized meals for the band’s entourage and is also offering concert ticket holders a 10% discount when they dine at the Solaris, Mont Kiara outlet anytime in May.

Lucky fans with Super GT tickets

Look at the crowd!

The sixth floor of Sungei Wang was abuzz with the chitter-chatter and excited squeals last Saturday as devoted TVXQ! fans gathered at JPM Music’s roadshow, just one week ahead of the highly anticipated TVXQ! ‘Catch Me’ Live World Tour Concert in Malaysia.

The wait is almost over and TVXQ!’s arrival is near, with just days left before Malaysia’s Cassiopeia share the experience of a lifetime! At the roadshow, the build up of excitement among fans was more apparent than ever as attendees banded together, breaking out in song as the duo’s hit Catch Me played in the background. Unable to contain his enthusiasm, one young man even bravely took to the stage to show off his dance moves to TVXQ!’s Mirotic & Keep Your Head Down.

Fans purchasing tickets

JPM Music, joint presenter Magnum and sponsor Super GT, hosted the roadshow as a last-chance for TVXQ! fans hoping to get their hands on special prizes and official TVXQ! merchandise before the Kings of Pop return for their first Malaysian performance in over 6 years.

Fans trying their luck at Magnum booth

The event included a ‘countdown’ lucky draw and Q&A sessions that enabled Cassiopeia to win themselves stellar prizes and TVXQ! goodies such as TVXQ’s album, 5 pairs of Super GT tickets, official posters and other merchandise offered by Universal Music, and a wild card prize at the last moment – A TVXQ! album to be signed by none other than U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin.

Winner with TVXQ signed album

Another autographed TVXQ! album is waiting to be won by a passionate fan who attended the roadshow. Attendees had their photos taken in front of the large TVXQ! backdrop and now JPM Music has uploaded them into an album on its official Facebook page. The fan who gets their photo shared the most times will win the autographed album. Contest ends at midnight on 15th May 2013.

The opportunity to win the ultimate prize, however, has now been extended to 18th May! Anyone who purchases a concert ticket in the next 5 days will also be in the running to get themselves a once-in-a-lifetime Korea trip (for one) that includes a ticket to a concert by one of SM Entertainment’s artists. If you already bought your ticket prior to the roadshow, you can still have the opportunity to win this prize by getting your friends to buy tickets and showing their proof of purchase. The more friends who purchase tickets, the greater your chances of winning! (See below for the terms of participation in this lucky draw.) Entries will be accepted only until 18th May. The winner will then be randomly selected and announced on 19th May.
